State Notice of Real Estate Conveyance Tax Rate Change
The 2025 session of the Rhode Island General Assembly has resulted in many changes to Rhode Island tax statutes. Please be advised, the following is EFFECTIVE AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2025
Per R.I. Gen. Laws, the rate for the REAL ESTATE CONVEYANCE TAX will increase from $2.30 per $500 to $3.75 per $500 for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 (the portion of the sales price over $800,000 for residential properties)
