Why We're Cashless

The Budlong Aquatic Center is a 100% cashless facility. All season pass purchases must be completed online through Square.

Moving to a cashless system provides important benefits to both residents and the City:

  • Faster service and shorter lines
  • Secure transactions and reduced risk of lost or stolen cash
  • Immediate electronic receipts
  • Improved financial accountability and transparency
  • Reduced administrative costs associated with handling, transporting, and reconciling cash
  • Greater operational efficiency, allowing staff to focus on customer service

Cashless payment systems have become the standard at many recreational and athletic venues. The Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL) utilizes cashless ticketing for many championship events, helping streamline admissions and improve transaction security.
