The Cranston Fire Department has smoke alarms for the elderly, and those in need with homes built prior to 1976.
Interested and eligible residents may contact the fire prevention office at 401-780-4016.
Mayor Ken Hopkins encourages any Cranston resident who wishes to apply for free smoke or carbon monoxide (CO) alarms to do so for the safety of themselves, their loved ones, and their homes.
