Public Records
The Canvassing Authority charges .15 cents per page (.30 cents for double-sided pages such as nomination papers) for photo copies. There is no charge for emailed electronic copies of records that do not require more than one hour of search and retrieval or redaction time.
Records may also be provided via a USB thumb drive for $15 (for security reasons, thumb drives cannot be returned to us).
For all transactions, either cash or checks made out to the City of Cranston are accepted; we cannot accept credit cards.
Election forms such as blank voter registration forms, blank mail ballot applications, and blank nomination, declaration, and endorsement papers may be provided upon request at no charge. Declared candidates for office may also optionally receive one free printed voter list and one free map of their district (otherwise the voter list will be emailed), and party chairpersons may receive voter lists as provided for by state law.
Please contact the Registrar / Director of Elections with any questions about public records requests at 401-780-3128 or via email at canvassing@cranstonri.gov.
