The City of Cranston is convening a public hearing in preparation of its 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and its One-Year Annual Action Plan for the Program Year 2025. The City of Cranston is expecting to receive approximately $5 million over the 2025-2029 Plan period, approximately $1 million annually. The Consolidated Plan and Annual Action plan are required documents by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These documents assist the city in identifying how it will invest CDBG funds in housing, homelessness services, economic development, public infrastructure, and community programs between July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2029. The city is seeking comments from interested parties concerning the use of CDBG funds for the city’s community development activities over the next five years.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 6:00pm.

The city will use the information collected from this public hearing as well as additional consultation and research to develop a draft of the Five-Year Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan. These documents will be made available for public comment. At that time an additional public hearing will be held to obtain feedback on the document. The public comments received are incorporated into the final draft of the Consolidated Plan and the Annual Action Plan, which will then be submitted to HUD.
