There will be a Public Hearing on proposed Ordinance No. 09-24-01 to consider the
adoption of the proposed Cranston 2024 Comprehensive Plan.
The 2024 Comprehensive Plan (Phase 1 of 2) is a complete and substantial update
to the existing 2012 Comprehensive Plan. The 2024 Comprehensive Plan includes two new
chapter elements as required by State law: Energy and Natural Hazard Mitigation. The
Goals and Policies and Action Items from the 2012 Plan are largely carried over intact
unless they were considered defunct or no longer consistent with State Law.
The public hearing will be held in the Cranston City Hall Council Chambers, 869
Park Ave., Cranston, RI on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. before the
Ordinance Committee. Interested parties are encouraged to attend or may participate

An additional public hearing will be included as part of the agenda for a Special Meeting of the Cranston City Council on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.

Pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws § 45-22.2-8(c)(1)(v) the proposed Cranston 2024 Comprehensive Plan may be altered or amended prior to the close of the public hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing, provided that any such alteration or amendment must be presented for comment in the course of the public hearing.
